The shipmates of the ships named USS Holder DE401, DD819, and DDE819 gathered in Cape May, New Jersey at the El Coronado Motor Inn for their 17th reunion.

Welcome Aboard! Hospitality room open.

Open day, check-in time is after 1500.

Monday, 02 October 1995

Hospitality room was open.

1000 We departed by open trolley for a tour. First stop was the US Coast Guard Base at Cape May. Next we went through a section of Cape May to view some of the Victorian houses with stops at two B&Bs to look inside and see the furnishings. On to Cape May Point and our search for Cape May diamonds. Our trolley took us to the lighthouse. After leaving the lighthouse , our trolley stopped at a mall in downtown Cape May before returning to the hotel.

Tuesday, 03 October 1995

Hospitality room open.

This was an open day and our industrious shipmates found a variety of things to do. Some went deep sea fishing with Captain John on the Royal Flush, some went to Atlantic City, others went shopping (it was noted that someone purchased a "very big basket"), and others took their ease at El Coronado.

Wednesday, 04 October 1995

Hospitality room was open.

This was an open day until 1500.

1500 Our annual business meeting was held in the underground garage due to inclement weather, which prevented us using the patio as planned.

Wednesday evening the trolleys took us to VFW Post 3509 in Wildwood for our annual banquet, which this year was an indoor clambake. The banquet was followed by dancing to music by Time Zone (including the son of Ron and Dolly Showers) and our patriotic parade led by John O'Neill (BM2 1958-1965).
